Designed to make patient care much more accessible and convenient, Ortho Wilmington's AccessOrtho is a walk-in medical service that allows patients with orthopaedic conditions needing immediate attention to be diagnosed and treated right away, avoiding costly and unnecessary visits to the emergency room.

The first of its kind in the area, AccessOrtho offers on-site x-rays and casting, plus the highest level of specialized orthopaedic care. Patients with non-pressing conditions will continue to be scheduled according to their physician's recommendations.

With AccessOrtho, you can get immediate, specialized treatment for:

• Strains & sprains
• Closed fractures (in which bone does not break the skin)
• Dislocations
• Sports-related injuries
• Cast or wound dressing problems
• Recently painful, swollen or injured joints

Injuries not appropriate for AccessOrtho include:

• Non-orthopaedic care
• Open fractures (in which bone is protruding from skin)
• Head or facial trauma
• Partial or full amputations
• Initial visits following a motor vehicle accident
• Diagnosed hip fractures
• Diagnosed shoulder dislocations
